Sijia Gao wins Trainee Professional Development Award
Sijia Gao, a visiting graduate assistant in the lab of Dr. Paola Calderon, received the 2020 Trainee Professional Development Award (TPDA) from the Society for Neuroscience.
The award recognizes undergraduate, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who demonstrate scientific merit and excellence in research. The aim of the TPDA is to help neuroscientists progress in their career training.
Sijia presented her poster titled “Robust alternative to the righting reflex to assess arousal in rodents” at the society’s 2020 virtual event, SfN Global Connectome. As an award recipient, she received access to professional development opportunities via Neuronline for the year following her award.
The Society for Neuroscience has more than 36,000 members in more than 95 countries and is the world’s largest organization of scientist and physicians devoted to understanding the brain and nervous system.
