Calderon Lab Awarded 2019 BMRI Paper of the Year

Dr. Diany Paola Calderon and scientists from the Department of Anesthesiology’s Calderon Lab received the 2019 Paper of the Year Award from the Feil Family Brain and Mind Research Institute (BMRI). The study, titled “Activating an anterior nucleus gigantocellularis subpopulation triggers emergence from pharmacologically-induced coma in rodents,” was published in Nature Communications. Sijia Gao, a visiting graduate assistant, was the paper’s first author.
The BMRI Paper of the Year award and $10,000 grant for research-related expenses is awarded to the laboratory of a Weill Cornell Medicine faculty member.
